SDG15 Poster: Life on Land - by Patrick Gilliéron Lopreno

This summer, Christophe Renggli from Courvoisier-Gassmann SA kindly offered me the opportunity to participate in the "17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals illustrated by 17 creatives" project and to create a poster with one of my photos. My theme was number 15; called "Life on Earth." For a long time, through my work and photography books, the issues of ecology and concern about the disappearance of biodiversity have been central elements that form the basis of my creative research. To illustrate my poster, I chose to photograph the Jaun waterfall in Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg. This place recharges me and combines different elements; water, earth, and air (a place with an exceptionally high content of positive ions). Strongly influenced by the work of Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, mineral and natural elements are often found in my photography. They connect man with the invisible and give us a vision of the sacred with the aim of preserving the living and reconciling us with the earth and ourselves. This image was taken using the Hasselblad Xpan camera with Kodak 160 ASA film.
